Terms & COnditions

Rental Terms and Conditions:
(Subject to UAE Law and Jurisdiction)

1. General
 

Any of the changes or adjustments to reservations may be susceptible to changes in the rate.

The online terms and rates do not apply and may not be used along with any of the corporate, local promotions, walk in or rates that have been contracted on tours and travel. The promotional rates that have been reserved online are susceptible to extra terms or conditions as has been stated against the promotion.

The car hirer needs to be minimum 21 with a valid credit card or driving license. Model or make is not guaranteed by the company for reservation. If the make or model or car group is not present at the pick up point, the company is liable to offer alternate model or make in the same group.

The confirmation booking advice will be canceled if the hirer does not pick up the reserved car from the office at the stipulated time mentioned in the booking.

The provision of unlimited kilometers is applicable within UAE.

You should keep to the right part of the streets.

Online reservations are not applicable for the frequent flyer points or miles.

All the additional charges and coverage including PAI Personal Accident Insurance, CDW Collision Damage Waiver, SDW Super Damage Waiver driving or traffic parking fines, refueling or petrol charges, airport parking, road tolls, baby seats, one way drop charges, collections and delivery charges will be charged additionally.

The vehicle needs to be returned with exact level of fuel when it was gives. If not, refueling charges apply.

2. Credit Card Information
 

Credit card is required during booking for guaranteeing the reservation. However, you should note that you will not receive any sort of pre authorization while you are booking. Once the rental commences, a signed imprint of your credit card is taken and the processing of pre authorization is in progress in the total amount of estimated charges during the rental car pick up. The driving license and credit card should be made on the name of the individual reserving the vehicle. The following credit cards are accepted:

  • MasterCard
  • Diners Club
  • American Express
  • Visa

All charges related to the rental are made on a credit card involving additional day charges or rental costs, parking, traffic, or driving fines, optional insurance coverage including personal accident insurance and collision damage waiver, or violations including service charges of 10%, insurance excesses, baby seats, collection and delivery charges, airport parking, or one way charges, or any other charge posted later on regarding the car rental agreement. These are automatically charged into the hirer’s credit card.

The hirer accepts to settle and pay irrevocably all the charges relating to the hiring of the car with Dollar Rent a Car before or at the time when the car is returned. If there is a monthly open ended agreement from one month to the next, the hirer accepts settling the monthly charges after the expiration of all 30 days from the date of commencement as stipulated on the car rental agreement. In case of failure, the hirer requires the company for debiting monthly charges on the credit card which is mentioned on Rental Contract involving charges for extension beyond the due date of the hire agreement set out scheduling for charges or until when the vehicle is returned.

3. Driving License
 

As a hirer, you should have an original and valid driving license in your name from the country of residence for at least a year. The passport holders from USA, UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Greece, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Norway, Canada, Spain, Ireland, Finland, Poland, Republic of South Africa, Romania etc. can rent a car in the UAE while they are on transit, visit or tourist visa on the basis of original driving license which has been issued from any of the countries mentioned above. Visitors from the Republic of Korea, Greece, Turkey and Japan need to receive an English translation of the license from the consulate or embassy in the UAE before applying for a vehicle rental. Passport holders of other countries need to produce valid international driving license or a driving temporary permit from the Traffic Department which is nearest in the country before renting the car. Nationals of the GCC are required to have a validated GCC license. Those who hold resident visa in the UAE should produce a driving license. The requirements of the license are made according to the UAE laws and may be subject to change.

4. Insurance Coverage
  Third Party Liability and Theft Protection

This is included in the rates. The hirers are suggested that in case of theft or accident or damages to the rented car, they are required to produce and obtain a validated Police Report according to the laws of the UAE. The claims are susceptible to the court verdict.

SDW, CDW or LDW Collision or Loss Damage Waiver

The Super or Collision or Loss Damage Waiver is not a mandatory waiver of the responsibility of the renter to pay for the damages or loss of use, the related costs and expenditures due to the damages or collisions to the rented car. You can buy the waiver at the beginning of the hiring and it is applicable when it is listed as an additional charge on Vehicle Hire Agreement, or when backed by a validated police report if there is loss or damage caused when the car is used, driven or operated along with other terms or conditions of the Vehicle Hire Agreement. If the hirer cannot produce original police report, they will be held responsible for repair expenses and damages involving third party costs. Insurance as well as third party claims are void if these are not supported by police reports. On rental, the hirer chooses and pays separately for the Super/Collision Damage Waiver at the everyday rates which are mentioned on tariff card.

The hirers are advised that according to the rules of the country, they should not drive while intoxicated and hence all costs, involving third party costs, resulting from accidents or damage as a result of intoxicated substances will be charged on the account of the hirer. In such a situation, all the insurances are rendered void.

5. Insurance Excess/Deductible
 

The hirer is held responsible for settling the deductible amount or insurance excess which has been listed on the agreement of vehicle hire in case there is a loss or damage (involving theft or fire)which has been caused to the car, provided it is used, driven or operated conforming to the Vehicle Hire Agreement. A few of the contracted tour rates can include Loss or Collision Damage Waiver, although the deductible minimum may be applicable as has been listed in the Vehicle Hire Agreement.

Mileage/Territorial Restrictions

 

An unlimited number of kilometers are offered within the UAW. The vehicles can be driven to Oman by purchasing the Oman Insurance Cover Note from the Company beforehand. The price varies from AED 350 and differs according to class. Driving to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Yemen is forbidden strictly. Hirers are recommended discussing any plans of driving outside the country with the representative of the company during rental.

7. Damages or Accidents Caused to the Vehicle
 

In case there is a damage or accident, the hirer is not required to remove the car without previously notifying the police and getting a report. If there is a damage or accident, the hirer should settle down the amount of Insurance Excess as indicated on the vehicle Rental Contract by submitting a Police Report. If they fail to obtain the police report, the hirer is held responsible for repair costs and damage including failure of use as the insurance company shall not compensate the providers without the report.

8. The terms “motor vehicle”, unless non contextual, will refer to the vehicle that has been rented and described overleaf along with the accessories.
9. The hirer should acknowledge that the car was delivered to them in a roadworthy and good state by the company along with AC functioning properly with the oil tank and radiator being filled. The hirer should undertake to:
  • use as well as preserve the vehicle and on termination of the said period return it back to the authorities in a roadworthy and good condition when delivered to them
  • have sufficient water as well as oil in the car
  • while possessing the vehicle, supply the oil and petrol required have the vehicle operate at their cost
  • the vehicle should be delivered to the provider after completing 500 km for lubrication services, and if they do not fulfill the condition, satisfy the company for losses involving the loss suffered by the company for failure to abide by the obligations according to the clause
10. If there is a mechanical fault, the hirer will immediately deliver the car to the car rental company for repair. The hirer should acknowledge bearing the costs of repair work done by them without the company’s consent.
11. If the car is damaged during the term of the agreement:
  • The company is entitled to possess the car immediately and have in hand any sort of repair without discrimination to any sort of right that the company can bear against the renter for damages.
  • The term of hire in that case shall carry on and the hirer should disburse the company the rental charges until completion of repairs.
  • If there is damage due to any peril which the car is insured against the hirer is held responsible up to a highest amount that is stated in the Vehicle Hire Agreement. However, if compensation for such damage is not recoverable at law and if the company in their sole discretion decides that the compensation is not recoverable economically from another person, the hirer is obliged to bear the entire amount of the compensation.
12. The hirer should underwrite the company against the claims which are made against it, rising out of the usage of the automobile or the way of driving while it remains with the hirer according to the agreement.
13. The hirer undertakes and warrants that:
  • They are licensed duly to drive the car
  • They exhibit their license as and when the company requires
  • If you are not licensed to do so, you will not drive the car
  • The vehicle should not be utilized for any competition, towing, races, transporting merchandise or passengers for hiring or for business
  • No articles that can damage the car or upholstery will be transported in the car
  • The car cannot be used for transporting liquor, contraband items or drugs or other legally prohibited drugs
14. The hirer must not sub rent the vehicle while it is on rent or give up their possession.
15. The hirer will advise the company immediately if there is a fault in the car or accident or if it is stolen and in case of such an incident, complete the required forms and help the company in case of claims make against the insurers due to the theft or accident.
16. The hirer represents and warrants that all the information offered by them and any statements made on the agreement of vehicle hire are true and the agreement is made based on these statements.
17. if the hirer commits a breach of term or the car is used by another person in a way considered prejudicial by the company, the agreement will be immediately canceled and possession of the car will be retaken without heeding to the company’s rights for claiming hiring charges which are due according to the terms of the agreement or damages.
18. The hirer should select domicillium citandi at executandi at their current address where they will be served with the procedures and notices.
19. The hirer is responsible for loss or damage caused to the car or third party losses or damages due to transporting contraband commodities and other prohibited products by law, or committing any sort of illegal activity or omitting UAE laws or those of other countries in which they use the car for hire.
20. The car rental company will not hold responsibility for the hirer’s belongings that have been left in the vehicle.

21. The hirer is responsible for the cost of the vehicle if stolen as a result of their negligence, such as not locking it, or keeping the keys in it.
22. If the hirer fails to offer the Airport Parking Ticket to the Airport Office of the company to park the rented car at the Dubai Airport, they should deal with the parking charges that have been levied on the company with the requisite authorities.
